Abstract

RESTU PUJIANA. Correlation of Self-Control With Academic Cheating of Students At 8 Vocational High School Jakarta. The course study of Economics Education, Concentration Accounting Education, Department of Economics and Administration, Faculty of Economics, State University of Jakarta, in May 2012. This study aims to obtain accurate data and reliable about how far the relationship between self-control with the student academic cheating at 8 Vocational High School Jakarta. The study was conducted over two months from March 2012 until April 2012. The research method used is survey method with the correlational approach, whereas the data obtained from instruments that are distributed to X grade students majoring in Accounting from X Accounting 1, X Accounting 2, X Accounting 3, and X Accounting 4 as many as 121 people. Samples were taken as many as 89 students from four classes. To get the data of variable X (self control) and the data variable Y (Academic Cheating) used a questionnaire-shaped instrument with a 55 point Likert scale statements. Once the construct validity was tested through the validation process which is the calculating the correlation coefficient score points with the total score and reliability testing with Cronbach Alpha formula. The results of the reliability of the variable X (Self Control) is 0.95 while the reliability of the variable Y (Academic Cheating) is 0.98. Test requirements analysis is performed by finding the regression equation. The regression equation obtained was Y = 98.13 - 0.13 X. Next is a test for normality of estimated regression error on X by using the liliefors test and earned Lo = 0.0765 compared L table at 0.05 significance level at 0.0934 then the Lo < Lt. This means that the error estimate of Y on X is normally distributed. To test the significance regression obtained Fcount (9.38)> Ftabel (3.95) this means that regression is significance . While the linearity test result Fcount (1.03) <F table (1.66), this means that the model used is linear regression. Product Moment Coefficient Correlation test produces r xy = -0.65. Then followed by coefficients significant test using t test. The results obtained are t count at 8, 288, while the T table on dk = n-2 = 87 and 0.05 significance level is 1.665, meaning tcount> Ttable. In addition, the coefficient of determination test obtained by 42.56% which means that the academic cheating was set at 42.56% by the presence of self-control. Conclusions of this study is that there is a relationship between selfcontrol with academic cheating on 8 Vocational High School Jakarta Students SMK 8 Jakarta. This means that if the higher the students control themselves the lower levels of academic cheating behavior.
