Abstract

LINA ISNAINI. The Correlation Between Compensation with Performance of Employees PERUM DAMRI in Jakarta. Scription, Jakarta. Studies Program Commerce Education, Department of Economics and Administration, Faculty of Economics, State University of Jakarta, July 2012. The aim of this research is to obtain empirical data, valid and reliable fact concerning wheter or not there is the correlation between Compensation with Performance of The Employee PERUM DAMRI in Jakarta. The observation was held in PERUM DAMRI Jakarta for 4 months from March 2012 to June 2012. The method that had been used was the method of survey close to the correlation. The simple random technique by proportional had been used to take the samples. The observation deal with the employee of PERUM DAMRI and the population that could be reached were division of Urban Transport, Planning dan Developement, dan Administration & General which amouts to 35 employees. The sample that could be taken came from 32 employees by using sample of population table Isaac & Michael with sampling error 5%. To get data from two variables, researcher using likert scale model for Compensation (X variable) and Performance (Y variable). For variable X from 30 statements which had validated, 24 statements were valid and 6 statements were drop. For variable Y from 49 statements which had validated, 43 statements were valid and 6 statement were drop. The calculation reliability of both variables were using Alpha Cronbach method and variable X reliability is 0.799 variavle Y reliability is 0,857. This proof that the instruments were valid and reliable. The equation for linear regression is Ŷ=96,565+0.611X. Analysis of condition test, which is normality error test for regression approximates of X on Y with liliefors test, results in Lcount = 0.0672, and Ltable for n=32 with significance of 0.05 is 0.1566, because Lcount < Ltable then normality error test is normal distribution. And linearity regression test yield, in Fcount < Ftable is 1,99 < 2,39 that can be interpreted that the regression equation is linear. Significance regression result in Fcount > Ftable is 10,70 > 4.17, its mean that the regression equation is significant. Result of hypothesis test with Pearson’s Product Moment shows that rxy = 0.513, then significance of product moment correlation is tested with t-test which yields tcount= 5.845 and ttable = 1.67. It can be result that product moment correlation rxy = 0.593 is significsnt. Coefficient of determined obtained equal to 26,32%, its mean that 26,32% variations of Performance by Compensation. Result of the calculation concludes that there is positif correlation between Compensation With Performance of Employees PERUM DAMRI in Jakarta.
