Abstract

ABSTRACT IRWAN SAPUTRA. Relationship Between Role Clarity with Employee Performance in PT. Windu Sunter Jaya Utama. North Jakarta. Thesis, Jakarta: Education Program Economics, Concentration Education Office Administration. Department of Economics and Administrative. Department of Economics and Administration, Faculty of Economics, University of Jakarta, January 2015. This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between the clarity of roles (role clarity) with the performance of employees at PT. Windu Jaya Utama North Jakarta. This research was carried out for 3 months from the month of October 2014 until December 2014. The method used is a survey method with correlation approach. The population of this study were all employees in PT. Windu Jaya Utama which amounts to 120 employees, and affordable population of this study is numbered 89 people from all division. The sample used by using proportional random technique (proportional random sampling). To collect data both study variables, instruments used for variable X (clarity of roles) and the variable Y (the performance of employees) is in the form of a questionnaire. Before use, test the construct validity (Construct Validity) through the validation process is the calculation of the correlation coefficient score of grains with a total score and test reliability with Cronbach alpha formula. The results of the reliability of the instrument variable X (role clarity) of 0.963. Test requirements analysis is done by looking at the regression equation is y = 6.707 can + 0,620X. Normality test results Liliefors produce Lhitung = 0.071 and Ltabel = 0.094 at significance level (a) = 0.05 for the number of samples (n) 89. Because Lhitung = (0.071) <Ltabel = (0.094), the variables X and Y are normally distributed. Hypothesis testing regression significance test produces Fhitung = (52.13)> F table = (3.96) which means that a significant regression equation. Linearity test regression produces Fhitung = 0.88 and F table = 1.70 so Fhitung <F table it can be concluded that the model is a linear regression equation. Test the product moment correlation coefficient = 0.612 produces rhitung. Furthermore, the correlation coefficient significance test using t-test, produce t = (7.22)> table = (1.67) The results of these studies conclude that there is a positive relationship between the clarity of the role of the employee's performance. With a coefficient of determination test or the determining test results obtained by 37.47% employee performance variable (Y) is determined by the clarity of roles (X).
