Abstract
RICKY CHANDRA D. P. The Influence of Population, Investment and Government Expenditure on Regional Inequality in Java and Bali Province During 2010-2016. Education of Economics, Faculty of Economic, State University of Jakarta, 2018. This research aimed to analyze the influence of population, investment, and government expenditure have an effect on regional inequality as measured by the Williamson Index of 2010-2016. Data obtained from various publications of the Central Bureau of Statistic of Indonesia. The time period of the data used in this research is 7 years from 2010-2016 for 7 Provinces (Banten, DKI Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta, East Java, and Bali). The number of observations from each variable in this study is 49. This research uses regression method of panel data using Random Effect model (REM). Based on the simultaneous analysis, population variables, foreign direct investment (FDI), domestic investment, and government expenditures, together influence on regional inequality. Based on the partial analysis, the population (Log_Penduduk) has a positive and significant influence, Foreign Investment (Log_PMA) has a significant and significant effect, Domestic Investment (Log_PMDN) has positive and insignificant effect, and Government Expenditure (Log_Pelueluaran) has negative and significant. The results showed the value of coefficient of determination (R2) 0.28. Keywords : Williamson Index, Regional Inequality, Investment,, Foreign investment, domestic investment, Government expenditure
