Abstract

ABSTRACT The tourism industry has experienced steady growth in the last ten years. Both on a global and domestic scale, the contribution of the tourism industry has a significant role in economic growth. On the other hand, the development of information technology is also experiencing rapid growth both in terms of technology and its users. This is a very promising opportunity for a new business to plunge into the tourism industry utilizing information technology. Therefore, this paper intendsto make a business plan an Online Travel Agentin order to achieve maximum revenue from the trend of both equally prospective industries. Thisbusiness plantends to use a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques in the field were conducted by interview, observation, and documentation study. Primary data collection is obtained from internal management environment, and other Bureau or Travel Agency. For secondary data, obtained from the data already available on the official website of the Central Bureau of Statistics, the Ministry of Tourism of RI, the site of survey institutions, reliable online media sites, and other supporting documents. After the data is obtained then weighted according to the importance of each factor based on Five Forces Porter. The results of this study succeeded in formulating the key successfactorsof a business plan and provides an overview of its aspects of Marketing, Operations, Human Resources, and Finance. Key Success Factors this business areusing the latest technology with easy-to-use features; unique product differentiation; solution for finding personal guide; competitive price; and provide added value in the form of discounts, rewards points, loyalty programs, and so forth. In terms of marketing, digital marketingis a priority. From the operational aspect, it was found that there should be at least 30 new activities each month to offer to consumers. On the HR side, a team of qualified programmers and developers is required. From the financial aspect, the business plan has an ARR of 13.7%, NPV of Rp.14.2 billion, and IRR of 14.29%, of which all three indicate the result of proper analysis for investment.
