Abstract

ABSTRACT Infrastructure conditions depict a country's economy. Infrastructure development itself is related to the construction activity. National construction companies are the backbone of infrastructure development in Indonesia. Construction company that has a competitive advantage that provides assurance, dedication and capabilities in infrastructure development. This research is an empirical study on the construction company in Indonesia. The main objective of this study was to analyze the influence between variables in order to answer the question of how to build competitive advantage through innovation, information technology and differentiation. This study provides managerial implications to the construction company in Indonesia, how to leverage innovation, information technology and differentiation to create and enhance the company's competitive advantage. The study population was the whole construction services company in Indonesia. The samples used were 123 samples. The respondents' answers were analyzed conformity with the research model developed from a theoretical framework using SEM (Structure Equation Modeling) software LISREL 8.70. Results of data analysis indicate the entire hypothesis is accepted, demonstrate that the innovation and information technology influence positively to differentiation, innovation and positive effect of information technology to the competitive advantage and differentiation of positive influence to competitive advantage. This means that the competitive advantage of the construction company can be built through innovation, information technology and differentiation and differentiation can be built through innovation and information technology. The variables that most influence on the competitive advantage of the construction company in Indonesia is information technology. And the variables that most influence the differentiation of the construction company in Indonesia is innovation.
