Abstract
ABSTRACT This study aimed to examine the effect of motivation and perceived organizational support to employee performance that is mediated by the variable employee engagement. The method in this study using a quantitative method by distributing questionnaires to 239 respondents consisting of employees in one business unit of PT. Grand Indonesia: Grand Indonesia Mall. The data from the questionnaires analyzed by descriptive and quantitative. Descriptive analysis is used to describe the characteristics of respondents and the research variables based on the results of questionnaires, whereas quantitative analysis was done by using analysis of Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with AMOS software. Based on the results of SEM analysis, I concluded that the motivation and perceived organizational support positive and significant effect on employee engagement. The results further indicate that partial, motivation, perceived organizational support and employee engagement also directly affects the performance of employees. In further testing, test results of mediation by using Sobel test showed that employee engagement may mediate the effects of motivation and perceived organizational support on employee performance. This suggests that increasing the motivation and perceived organizational support can improve employee engagement which will further improve the performance of employees.
