Abstract

ABSTRACT NADYA SHOVIA KALIMANTORO. The Influence Of Motivation and Commitment to Work Achievement by Employees Working at PT. Molax International Jakarta. Thesis, New York: Study Program Economics Education. Concentrations in Education of Office Administration. Department of Economics and Administration, Faculty of Economics, State University of Jakarta, 2012. This study aims to determine whether there is the influence of motivation and commitment to employees' performance in PT. Molax International. The study was conducted over two months from May through the month of June 2012. The method used is survey method with the correlational approach. The study population was all employees of PT. Molax International as many as 107 employees, and affordable population of this study was Staff Officer 79 people to 65 people as sample. Samples were taken using simple random technique (simple random sampling). Work Achievement (variable Y) used secondary data obtained from the HRD PT. Molax International. While the motivation of research variables (variable X1) and Commitment (X2) used an instrument with a Likert Scale. Before the instrument variable X1 is used, tested the construct validity through a validation process is the calculation of the correlation coefficient score points with the total score and reliability testing with Cronbach Alpha formula. Results of reliability point X1 variable (motivation) of 0.931. This proves that the variable X1 has a high reliability. Test requirements analysis is performed by finding the regression equation obtained was Y= 40.721 + 0.236(X1) + 0.204(X2). Based on the results of normality test of significance test results are known the value of work performance (Y), motivation (X1), commitment (X2), and the significance of the residuals is 0.199 and 0.200 which are all more than the 0.05 H0 accepted then the data means the data are normally distributed. From the results of the t test, t hitung of motivation (3.967)> t (1.66) so H0 is rejected, the conclusion that motivation has a significant positive effect on work achievement, t hitung of commitment (3.511)> t tabel tabel (1.66) so H0 is rejected , the conclusion that the commitment had a significant positive effect on work achievement. The results of hypothesis testing of two variables, motivation and commitment to simultaneously have an influence on work achievement is viewed from F (22.200)> F tabel (3.15). Then the partial variable motivsi have t = 3.967 and has a commitment have t hitung = 3.511 with t tabel hitung = 1.66 where a separate state significance (t hitung >t tabel ) means that each independent variable is the motivation and commitment have a significant positive effect on the dependent variable is work achievement. The results of these studies concluded that there is a positive influence between motivation and commitment to employees' performance. With a decisive test of the coefficient of determination or results obtained 41.7% work achievement variable (Y) is determined by motivation (X1) and commitment (X2).
