Abstract

ABSTRACT Neneng Siti Mariyam. 8215089463. 2012. The Effect of Promotion and Price to Popular Novel Buying Decision at Gramedia Matraman, Central Jakarta. Advisory team: Setyo Ferry Wibwo, SE., M.Si., Dra. Basrah Saidani., M.Si. The purpose of this study was to acknowledge the effect of promotion and price to popular novel buying decision at Gramedia Matraman, Central Jakarta. The study used quantitative approach. The method used was descriptive and causal method to questionnaire measuring devices. The sampling methode used was Nonprobability sampling and sampling puposive technique. Total sample in this study were 274 respondents. Data analisys is done by parametric test using SPSS 16.0. The result explained that there were significant influence of promotion (X ) on popular novel buying decision at Gramedia Matraman (Y), influence of price (X ) on popular novel buying decision at Gramedia Matraman (Y), and influence of promotion (X2 1 ) and price (X) collectively have significant influence on popular novel buying decision at Gramedia Matraman (Y), Based on the result of hypothesis testing through determinant test showed that the promotion explain popular novel buying decision at Gramedia Matraman by 8,1%, price explain popular novel buying decision at Gramedia Matraman by 8,3%, promotion and price collectively explain popular novel buying decision at Gramedia Matraman by 12,8%, Key words: Promotion, price, buying decision
