Abstract

The Influence of Parents Socio-Economic Status and Learning Motivation Towards Interest in continuing to study to college in 12th Grade Office Administration students of Mandalahyu Bekasi Vocational School. Skripsi. Jakarta: Economic Education Study Program, Faculty of Economics, Jakarta State University. 2019. This study aims to determine whether there is an influence between parents' socio-economic status and learning motivation towards the interest in continuing to study in college in 12th grade students of Bekasi Mandalahayu Vocational School. This research took 3 months, starting from January 2019 to March 2019. This research was conducted using the survey method. The population in this study were 140 students from all 12th grade students of the Mandalahayu Bekasi Vocational School. The sample in this research is 100 respondents. The sampling technique used is proportional random sampling techniques (proportional random sampling), Y variable data (Interest in Continuing Study to Higher Education), X1 variable data (Socio-Economic Status) and X2 variable data (Learning Motivation) are primary datas. The data analysis technique used is the first analyst requirements test, which consists of a normality test and a linearity test. Data has been normally distributed and has a linear relationship. Based on the classic assumption test, in the multicollinearity test there is a Tolerance value of parents' socioeconomic status and learning motivation of 0.646> 0.1, and a VIF value of 1.546 <10. The results of the heteroscedasticity test through the Spearmans rho test, the significance value of parents' socioeconomic status was 0.562> 0.05 and learning motivation was 0.470> 0.05. Then the regression equation obtained is Ŷ = 6.685+ 0.484X1+ 0.421X2. Furthermore, there is a hypothesis test consisting of the F test and the t-test. Based on the results of the F test then (Fcalculate > F table), which is equal to 111.149> 3.09. then based on the results of the t test then (tcalculate> ttable), namely the parents' socioeconomic status of 6.518> 1.984 and learning motivation of 6.905> 1.984. Based on the test of the coefficient of determination, parents' socioeconomic status and learning motivation simultaneously influence the interest in continuing to study in college at 69.6%. The conclusion of this study is that there is a significant influence between parents' socioeconomic status and learning motivation on the interest in continuing to study in college in 12th grade students of Bekasi Mandalahayu Vocational School. Therefore, in the variable socio-economic status of parents, increasing income is very necessary. If income improves, the child wishes to grow in his interest in continuing his studies, and vice versa. Whereas in the learning motivation variable students should cultivate attention and willingness in learning so that learning motivation continues to increase and thus the willingness to continue the study is more directed and planned.
