Abstract

THE INFLUENCE OF ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE AND INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION ON ORGANIZATIONAL CITIZENSHIP BEHAVIOR AND ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITMENT AS THE MEDIATING VARIABLE IN PT. JAKTOUR Restia Merdyantie Master of Management Faculty of Economy, Universitas Negeri Jakarta ABSTRACT Nowadays, the hotel business both domestic and international is growing rapidly. One of the companies operating in hotel industry in Jakarta is PT. Jaktour. By seeing the growth and the competition of hotel which become tighter, then PT. Jaktour must be able to compete with other hotel companies by paying attention on the quality of Human Resources owned by them. As one of industries running in service sector, the employees needed are those who not only have good performance but also those who are willing to perform the duties beyond what they frequently do (extra role). This behavior is also called as Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB). This research analyzes the influence of organizational culture and interpersonal communication on Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) with organizational commitment as the mediating variable. The sampling uses proportionate stratified random sampling method. The research population used as this research object is all employees working in PT. Jaktour with the total population is of 581 people. The samples of this present research are 237 respondents and it is analyzed by using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The result of the present research is organizational culture gives a positive influence on organizational commitment. Interpersonal communication influences positively and significantly on organizational commitment. Organizational culture gives a positive and a significant influence on organizational commitment. Besides, organizational culture provides a positive and a significant influence on Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB). Interpersonal communication does not influence Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB). Organizational commitment influences significantly on Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB). Organizational commitment mediates organizational culture towards Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB).
