Abstract

THE INFLUENCE OF PROTEAN CAREER ATTITUDE ON PROACTIVE WORK BEHAVIOUR WITH PASSION FOR WORK AND CAREER SELF MANAGEMENT AS MEDIATOR MILENNIAL EMPLOYEES DKI JAKARTA PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT Ade Maya Saraswati Master Of Management Faculty of Economics, Universitas Negeri Jakarta ABSTRACT Millennial generation who were born in 1980-1999, millennial generation were born in the era of information technology and education is developing, so that it has a very different character with the previous generation. X Generation and baby boomers are not easy to employ millennial generation who have a different meaning and hope about career from the previous generation. The work becomes more dynamic, making proactive behavior is seen as a more critical determinant from a success of an organization. This research analyzes the effect of protean career attitude to proactive work behavior with passion for work and career self management as a mediation variable. The sample determination uses purposive sampling technique. There are 389 respondents used as the samples in this research and are analyzed using Structural Equation Model (SEM). The result from this research is that protean career attitude has a significant positive effect to proactive work behavior. Protean career attitude has a significant positive effect to the passion for work. Passion for work has a significant positive effect to proactive work behavior. Protean career attitude has a significant positive effect to career self management. Career self management has a significant positive effect to proactive work behavior. Protean career attitude has a significant effect to proactive work behavior through passion for work. Protean career attitude has a significant effect to proactive work behavior through career self management.
